“It is as easy to make an idol of false doctrines and theories as to fashion an idol of wood or stone” (Great Controversy, p. 583).
Idolatry is the act of exalting something or someone above the word of God. Even if those things appear to be good, they become idols whenever they are venerated above God Himself and whenever they distort God’s will for mankind. When we embrace the radical, biblically distorted, climate change agenda and give it priority and precedence over the everlasting gospel and the Three Angels’ Message, that is when we have set up the idolatry of climate madness.
Focus Magazine is an official Seventh-day Adventist publication from the United Kingdom and is distributed throughout Europe. Adventists have demonstrated that they are willing to take up the challenge to protect planet earth, fight for the survival of all the species and work for the sustainability of our ecosystems.
They have dedicated this entire issue of Focus Magazine to promote the climate change movement. We are now engaging in the life-long struggle to clean the pollution of the world instead of the pollution of sin! The Trans-European Division of Seventh-day Adventists is dedicating a lot of energy and enthusiasm to promote this special climate crisis issue of Focus Magazine to its membership. [1]
The Trans-European Division of Seventh-day Adventists is promoting this special “climate crisis” issue.
The front cover of Focus Magazine depicts the young teenage girl Greta Thunberg, the new face of the climate revolution. She started the “Skolstrejk för Klimatet” movement which translates to “School Strike for the Climate.” Her motto is “Our House is on Fire” and her message is that the time for talking is over and we must act now to save our planet.
On page 3 of this special edition dedicated to the environment, Focus Magazine writes a tribute to Greta Thunberg. At the end of this tribute they conclude with these words:
“FOCUS is also inclined to agree with Greta Thunberg’s assessment that ‘our house is on fire’. The ‘paralysis of analysis’ days are over, and action is urgently required. Sure, governments and corporations must act, but we know that they won’t do so until we act. Our hope is that this edition of FOCUS will not only give you a Christian perspective on the crisis, but some practical ways of personally making a difference. All of us are on a journey, but make no mistake, without doubt, on this matter we need to move much, much faster.” [2]
Why are we willing to invest so much to promote the cause of climate change while ignoring the real, biblical and moral concerns of the times? When will we see a full issue dedicated to standing up for the unborn in any Seventh-day Adventist publication? When will we see a full issue exposing the dangers of the LGBT+ agenda in our magazines?
Where is the energy and enthusiasm for these real moral issues? Instead of sticking with clear and obvious biblical concerns, it seems that too many want to jump on the bandwagon for whatever the world defines as the “new” moral issues of the day – climate change.
We can be good stewards of God’s creation, but this work must have a biblical foundation that doesn’t deny real science, historical facts or the end-time prophetic scenario described in the Bible. The final chapter of planet earth has been written by God and we have a special work to do during this time. But what we cannot do is engage in a full-blown, environmental movement that is based primarily on fear, emotion, evidence-suppressing facts, agenda-driven science, spiritualism and politically correct, left-wing policies.
It is one thing to, “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” Revelation 14:7; and it is a completely different thing when we worship the earth, or join with people who do, push for “climate justice” and other secular, humanist environment laws while ignoring God’s judgment-hour message.
It is one thing to remember the Creator and to commemorate the creation by keeping and encouraging others to keep the 7th day Sabbath – and it is another to embark upon Rome’s unholy environmental revolution (Laudato Si) that is sweeping the world.

As God’s last-day Remnant people living both in the final scenes of earth’s history and in the end-time judgment hour, we are reminded of the following:
“We are to allow NOTHING to eclipse the message we have to bear, the third angel’s message, connected with the messages of the first and second angel” (Manuscript Release, Vol. 1, p. 291).
“The giving of the gospel to the world is the work that God has committed to those who bear His name. For earth’s sin and misery the gospel is the only antidote. To make known to all mankind the message of the grace of God is the first work of those who know its healing power” (Ministry of Healing, p. 141).
The world has established a new gospel and a new morality at this very time of earth’s history, and it is called “climate justice.” Various religious and political groups are coming together into a movement to “save” the world. The salvation being proposed today is not to save people from sin but to save the inhabitants of the earth from CO2 (carbon) gas emissions that they believed if not controlled will bring about the apocalypse and the end of the world.
At the head of this global effort is Pope Francis, the climate change savior and warrior who is pushing Laudato Si, his green climate encyclical that includes a Sunday rest provision for the world. [3] If Rome can declare a world-wide climate crisis, they can unify the people, pass laws and persecute their perceived enemies.
For generations Rome has attempted to build a new social, religious, political movement for the unification of the world. They have now found it in the new green environmental movement and Seventh-day Adventists are collaborating.
God’s End-Time Scenario
- “The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.” Isaiah 24:4.
- “The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Isaiah 24:5.
- “Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth.” Isaiah 24:6.
- “The earth shall reel (wobble) to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.” Isaiah 24:20.
You want to talk about the earth changing? God says that in the last days the earth is going to “reel to and fro like a drunkard.” This means that the planet will wobble off its axis and serious weather conditions will be seen. There is no debate that our earth is changing. The only question is, “What is the real cause for all the planetary changes?” The Prophet Isaiah tells us why our planet is in complete disarray. He gives the answer to the versus above by concluding with the real motive:
- “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.” Isaiah 24:21.
What is the cause? Isaiah says it’s punishment for transgression and sin. The Bible says that great changes will be seen in our planet’s weather systems during the last days. Just before the Lord returns the earth will be in great commotion – and these disasters seem to always be tied together with transgression to God’s law:
- “By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.” Hosea 4:2, 3.
- “How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein?” Jeremiah 12:4.
Jesus describes this very same scenario when He announced the signs of His appearing:
- “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” Matthew 24:7.
Why will these disasters exist on the earth during the last days? Because cataclysmic events always seem to follow great periods of transgression and iniquity. Jesus also connects disasters with transgression in the next versus:
- “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another … And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:10, 12.
As sin increases so will destructive weather systems and natural disasters. These final events have been directed by God. The future is in His hands, not mans’. This world of evil will one day end soon, but this end will actually bring about a new beginning for God’s people.
- “The earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up … Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” 2 Peter 3:10, 13.
When this day finally arrives, Christ will purify the universe and set everything in perfect order. The Bible calls this “the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13). Our only assurance of salvation and hope is in God and not in any invention, policy, doctrine, wishful thinking, scheme or fraud devised by man today.
A Massive Deception Created by Climate Alarmists
The National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) has a premier, elite team of top scientists called the “Goddard Institute for Space Studies” (GISS). [4] These NASA scientists are dedicated to analyzing and tracking the earth’s temperature index [5] and they are also directly responsible for providing climate change data to the United Nations’ own group of climate scientists called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). [6]
Dr. Hoesung Lee is speaking at the Paris Climate Agreement Conference in 2015. He is head of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This was the agency responsible for helping to prepare the Paris Climate Agreement document.
And who is the IPCC? They are the UN scientists who prepared the reports used to produce the Paris Climate Accord that was signed by 195 countries in December of 2015. This Paris Climate Accord became the first legally binding climate deal designed to save the planet by reducing carbon green house gasses. [7] In the actual text of the Paris Climate Accord the IPCC is listed as a contributor to the document. [8]
So NASA scientists from the GISS feed information to scientists at the United Nations (IPCC), and the IPCC in turn writes the reports used to create climate change policies. So where exactly is the fraud and deception taking place? It’s in NASA’s own admission.
The lead NASA scientist and director for GISS is Gavin Schmidt and he recently admitted that there is a “margin of error” in their data that is so huge that they are only 38% sure their climate change information is accurate. [9] The leading scientists and physicists whose job is to provide the necessary data so that politicians at the UN can come up with climate change polices have admitted they are only 38% sure their data is correct.
In other words, the experts who are driving the climate movement are 62% certain that their climate change data is wrong.
But somehow they seem to be 100% certain that the world is going to end tomorrow because of CO2 (carbon) green house gasses. Everyone is going to die unless we lower CO2 emissions, pay some kind of new carbon tax and as Rome would have us do – implement a green Sunday law.
If these experts are only 38% sure that their figures are right, even with all the supercomputers, satellites, space station and government funding – then how can they accurately predict global temperature models for the next 50 to 100 years? They can’t. It’s a big con job because anytime climate scientists release their doom and gloom study, their margin of error is 62%. This means their climate change hypothesis is already dead on arrival because the typical margin of error for any research or polling study is around 5%. [10]
Suppressing Historical Events and Facts
Why do all the climate change activists start tracking the earth’s warming cycle at the 1880’s? In their charts, in their reports, in the school textbooks, in their speeches and in their climate model projection videos why do NASA scientists use the 1800’s as the starting point to showcase the rise in global temperatures? The reason for starting in the 1880’s is political.
They do this to suppress certain truths and events that existed prior to the 1880’s – facts that will debunk the current, popular climate change projections. Most of us have never heard about the “Little Ice Age” or the “Medieval Warm Period” because these historical events contradict the climate change hype being pushed today by environmental activists.
The Little Ice Age was a period between the 1300’s and the 1870’s that was much colder than both previous and successive centuries. [12] Throughout Europe, North America and most of the Northern Hemisphere most of the rivers and lakes froze, winter seasons were prolonged by several weeks, crops failed, famine ensued and populations declined. [13]

But prior to the Little Ice Age there was another time period between 950 to 1250 which is called the Medieval Warm Period or Medieval Warm Anomaly. [15] This was a period when various parts of the world experienced high temperature levels similar to what we are experiencing today (See chart above).

However, Chinese scientists have argued that the high temperatures felt during the Medieval Warm Anomaly (950 to 1250) were actually higher than the weather temperatures we are experiencing today! This study is supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the data states that: “tree ring, lake sediment and literature records from eastern China and northwest China, imply that the temperatures in recent decades do not seem to exceed the natural changes in MCA (Medieval Climate Anomaly).” [16]
In other words, the growing heat index since the 1880’s is not something unique to our time. These weather cycles of hot and cold periods have always existed. What the so-called climate experts won’t tell you is that we were just coming out of the Little Ice Age in the 1880’s. And just before the Little Ice Age, we were going through another period of hot weather called the Medieval Warm Period – which according to top scientists in China, it was a much hotter period than what we are experiencing right now.
Alternative Causes For the Rise in CO2 are Ignored
“In fires, in floods, in earthquakes, in the fury of the great deep, in calamities by sea and by land, the warning is given that God’s Spirit will not always strive with men” (Last Day Events, p. 26).
These natural tragedies are far from over; they are just developing. This is only the beginning of sorrows because far more terrible calamities are coming. What we are seeing today is small in comparison to what is about to break upon our world. Something is happening to our earth. Natural disasters are happening with much greater frequency and intensity and every indication is that we are entering a period of great instability.
Just one volcanic eruption can put out just as much carbon (CO2) into the air as humans can. [17] And there are thousands of volcanoes both on the earth and underwater and they are constantly emitting CO2 into the atmosphere even without major eruptions. As we draw nearer and nearer to the end, volcanic activity will increase more and more. This will cause higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Just one fire storm alone has the ability to undo and wipe out one year’s worth of carbon reduction efforts. This actually happened in California. [18] In California, one fire erased all of the gains made in green house gas reductions for the previous year. As we draw closer to the end, more and more raging infernos will be seen on the earth. So all the efforts, sacrifices, regulations and billions spent to reduce CO2 greenhouse gas emission can come to NOTHING as more frequent and more intense natural disasters come.
Conclusion
The truth is that our world isn’t going anywhere because God has it all under control. He is keeping the world intact until a certain day:
“For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water … But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:5, 7.
Just as men are ignorant today that “By the word of Lord were the heavens made … He spoke and it stood firm” Psalm 33:6, 9 – our world is also completely ignorant of the fact that it is by God’s word alone that our planet is being reserved for the day of judgment. This earth isn’t going anywhere just yet because it’s in His hands – like He promised:
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22.
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentation 3:22, 23.
It is only because we have a loving, compassionate God that our world has not yet self-destructed. The devil can not obliterate our planet; if he could he would have done it a long time ago. Man has enough nuclear bombs to destroy all life on earth, but God is keeping things under control because He still has a work for His people to do in this world. God has already declared:
“Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” Revelation 7:3.
All the destructive forces of the universe are being held back in check until the gospel can do its final work. Once this work is completed, once the servants of God are sealed on their foreheads and once the 7 last plagues of Revelation 16 begin to fall …. may the Lord have mercy upon those who have the mark of the beast or who worship his image! Our world will ultimately come to the condition which the ancient prophets accurately foretold would come:
“I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.” Jeremiah 4:25, 27.
The good news is this – out of the ashes of the old world, God will establish His kingdom that will never pass away.
