Transcript from Hugo Gambetta’s presentation at Amboy, N. J. on June 4, 2013
This isn’t my topic, but I want us to wake up to the reality of the time in which we live.
Do you want to know a little more about Francis first?
Do you want to know a little more about him?
Well, I’ll tell you a little more about him.
He is Argentine.
I am also Argentine. (laughter)
That’s not what I mean.
I mean that when you come from a certain place or a certain country, you have certain information.
And what I’m going to say, very few people know.
After I say it, this recording will be on TV so many people are going to know
Francis l was Jorge Bergoglio.
Born in Argentina to a very Catholic family.
He became a priest and then entered the Jesuit order.
He has several brothers and sisters.
But what most people do not know is that one of Jorge Bergoglio’s brothers has for 52 years been a Seventh-day Adventist.
The blood brother from the father and mother of the current pope is a Seventh-day Adventist in Buenos Aires.
He is much older - the pope’s brother.
But let me tell you- when he was young and found the Adventist message Jorge, his brother, was a priest.
In the Bergoglio family there are several priests and nuns.
They are very Catholic.
It’s a family that has many leaders in the Catholic Church.
And Jorge was assigned to talk to his brother because he was becoming Adventist.
Jorge spent three days talking to him.
And his brother explained the whole Adventist message from A to Z.
The current pope knows Adventism and all of the Adventist doctrines.
The knows who Ellen White is and has many of her books, which his brother gave him.
He read the Great Controversy.
And you can say, “How nice! Perhaps then this pope will convert to one of those.”
Let me tell you - let me tell you -
After he heard his brother and listened, and listened, and took note of all that his brother was saying - to the letter - everything he said was noted.
When he finished explaining the Adventist doctrines - the 27 fundamental beliefs - and he asked him questions - and this and that and the other - and he recorded it all - then sad - Let me have a little time to study this and we will meet again.
And when they met again he said, “Look, I listened to you.
I did not interrupt.
I listened to everything you had to say to me.
And I wrote it down.
Now as brothers I ask that you listen to me.”
And Jorge had the time to talk to his older brother.
And his brother had to listen.
And every time he wanted to refute him, he said:
“I did not interrupt. Let me talk!”
And point by point he was presenting the rebuttal to all the alleged Adventist heresies.
He spoke of Ellen White as the plague.
He said she was a witch.
His brother still remembers the things that he heard.
But as he had been permitted to talk for two days, now he had to listen.
And he says: “I did not want to hear more, but because he listened to me I had to listen to him.”
When Jorge saw that his brother was in no way moved from his conviction - because he stood and said, “Everything that you tell me is what I learned as a child, but show me from the Bible that I’m wrong.”
He said to the present pope.
Years ago.
“Show me in the Bible that I’m wrong!”
And when Bergoglio saw no way to convince his brother - things changed.
And so he changed his method.
He told his parents that his brother had died to the family - that he not be regarded any more.
And from that day he was never more allowed to talk with his father nor his mother.
He got kicked out of the house, disowned.
And they refused to acknowledge having had a son by that name.
Not only that.
When his mother died - the mother of the current pope - and the mother of this Adventist brother - he wanted to go to the funeral of his mother. He was not allowed to enter.
He was removed by the police.
And the last words the brother remembered of what Jorge Bergoglio told him were:
“You are too insignificant for me to avenge myself on you - it is against your church that I will avenge myself!”
Brothers, don’t be afraid of that.
There is an almighty God. And all that is written, and we know that it is coming.
Woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! [Matt 18:7]
Christ said that one of the Twelve would betray him.
And he said, “woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!”
Woe unto him!
Why should we be scared of something that is already written for us and we know it is coming?
My question is: Will the God of heaven give this man a chance to fulfill the prophecy?
To my knowledge he is the first pope who knows Adventism.
Since the existence of the Adventist Church till now he is the first pope, who knows Adventism from A to Z and has a blood brother that is Seventh-day Adventist.
Never before was there another pope like this.
But the last thing I want to say is that the pope’s brother said that because of the family members who still try - because the immediate family - the mother died, the father died - the brothers do not talk - but because of the family, cousins and others - they had a family reception when he became pope - obviously he was not invited,(light laughter) but he learned that Jorge Bergoglio said:
“Very soon, see what God does. A global law is coming to make Sunday the day of rest and I’m going to order that it’s approved!”
In his own family!
Brethren these things have to wake us up from our spiritual slumber to realize what was written so long ago in the Word of God, in Revelation and in the Great Controversy.
It is right in front of us!
You do not have to believe by faith because we’re SEEING.
We are seeing the fulfillment of these things before our eyes.
And yet, our church is asleep in their Laodicean state.
I return to the quote.
Early Writings, page 270.
“I ask the meaning of the shaking I had seen and was shown - that it would be caused by the straight testimony - the straight testimony - called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans.
This will have its effect upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth.
Some will not bear this straight testimony.
They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God’s people.”
- and this is what will cause a shaking among God’s people.
