The Pope Does TED

“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”
We Seventh-day Adventists—after deep study of the book of Revelation—say that this verse predicts the wounding of the Catholic Church in 1798, when they lost their 1260 year grip on the world. We believe that the wound is still healing today and that after it heals then it will demand worship — Sunday worship. I do have some concerns of Pastors teaching at their Revelation Seminars that the wound has already been healed but that is for another article…
In 2014 the Pope spoke at a popular Kenneth Copeland religious conference. This conference was packed with leaders anxious to learn spiritual formation training. A specific point made in the Pope’s talk was that the protestant reformation was over and that we needed forgiveness to bring us together saying “… wounds of division to be healed.” The Pope closed his remarks asking for prayer from these spiritual leaders and they all did so, praying “in tongues” over the Pope. Fast forward almost three years. The Pope is speaking at the premiere world event to bring together the greatest minds in one place to address specific issues. It’s called T.E.D.—Technology Entertainment Design. TED talks are very exciting presentations on innovative ways of thinking, and are very popular with millennials.
The pope gave a TED talk addressing the area of Power and Humility. You can watch the talk or read the transcript of his talk here. A few hours after it was given and transcribed, I did a quick search for the word “wound” and wow, it looks like the same song is being sung from three years ago.
The title of his talk was called “The Future You.” Like the previous talk from three years ago he gave a very humble talk saying "Please, allow me to say it loud and clear, the more powerful you are, the more your actions will have an impact on people, the more responsible you are to act humbly." But the undertones shadowed the 2014 speaking engagement when he said “We need to restore our connections to a healthy state” and when speaking about judgment he used himself as an humble example. He calls this judgment a “wound” and that it needs to be extinguished. He then used the analogy of the Good Samaritan and his wounds saying “The story of the Good Samaritan is the story of today’s humanity.” He continues with an appeal saying “We have so much to do, and we must do it together.”
I’m sure Amazing Facts will shortly do an in-depth analysis of this crucial talk. The wound is being healed before our very eyes as the pages of Revelation are being played out. I believe the last part of the Pope’s TED talk is very important (I believe). After moving their hearts, he says “And so, please, think of me with tenderness, so that I can fulfill the task I have been given for the good of the other, of each and every one, of all of you, of all of us. Thank you.”
We could surf the internet, tracking the Pope’s every move as he heals the wound, but the very first part of the three angels message needs to be our focus. We need to be searching for the lost and pointing them towards Jesus!
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters (Revelation 14:7).
