House Speaker John Boehner invites Pope Francis

to speak to Congress

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday he has invited Pope Francis to address a joint session of Congress when he visits the United States.

The pontiff is widely expected to travel to the United States in September 2015 to attend the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, and mayors of several other U.S. cities have also invited him to visit.

Boehner, the highest-ranking Catholic currently elected to U.S. public office, moved to secure a spot on the Pope’s itinerary in a letter to Francis released on Thursday.

“It is with reverence and admiration that I have invited Pope Francis, as head of state of the Holy See and the first Pope to hail from the Americas, to address a joint meeting of the United States Congress,” Boehner said in a statement.

“Pope Francis has inspired millions of Americans with his pastoral manner and servant leadership, challenging all people to lead lives of mercy, forgiveness, solidarity, and humble service,” Boehner added.

But the Ohio Republican also used the occasion to reiterate Republicans’ views that increasing government programs and welfare is not the way to meet Americans’ responsibility to care for the poor and the most vulnerable.

He said Americans “have embraced Pope Francis’ reminder that we cannot meet our responsibility to the poor with a welfare mentality based on business calculations. We can meet it only with personal charity on the one hand and sound, inclusive policies on the other.”

President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet with the Pope on March 27 at the Vatican while he is on a trip to Europe.

As we know that the time is at hand, especially after hearing Bishop Tony Palmer presentation at the Charismatics / Pentecostals congress.  Kenneth Copeland supported Pope Francis request to unite. Now the U.S. House Speaker John Boehner has invited Pope Francis to the U.S. Congress. If the latter accepts it, he becomes the first spiritual leader ever to address the members of the U.S. parliament.

We stand on very the brink of stupendous events.  Remember, I told you in my last Newsletter that the only SDA to EVER present before the U.S. Congress in defense of our position on A National Sunday Law was Elder A. T. Jones. That should awake the sleeping virgins out of their sleep!!!

A, T. Jones subsequently, along with Elder E. J. Waggoner presented the pillar of Righteousness Faith at the 1888 Minneapolis General Conference Session.  Sister White that message it the beginning of the pouring of the Latter Rain and the beginning of the Loud Cry.

Because of rebellion and rejection, the Lord had to contain and hold back the Latter Rain until a people were ready.

The Breckenridge Sunday Closing Bill of 1892 marked the forming of the image.  THIS is a fact!! The Lord has been waiting, allowing us grace for 122 years.  He is not going to wait any longer.   The Mark of the beast will be formed with or without our efforts. We are told in GC605-606 that WE are to agitate the National Sunday Law...

How long will we as a people ignore the very essential tools we need to prepare for this time?  We must understand clearly "Righteousness By Faith" and the Three Angels Messages if we are ever going to be able to stand in this most tumultuous time. Please Beloved, put ever effort you can into finding and reading and studying the works of these Pioneer writers that the prophet said were Heaven sent.  Do not allow the enemy and his minions to tell you not to read their writings.  They are most assuredly needed at this time.

The work which the church has failed to do in a time of peace and prosperity, she will have to do in a terrible crisis, under most discouraging, forbidding circumstances. ChS 157.

It is in a crisis that character is revealed. When the earnest voice proclaimed at midnight, "Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him," and the sleeping virgins were roused from their slumbers, it was seen who had made preparation for the event. Both parties were taken unawares; but one was prepared for the emergency, and the other was found without preparation. So now, a sudden and unlooked-for calamity, something that brings the soul face to face with death, will show whether there is any real faith in the promises of God.

 It will show whether the soul is sustained by grace. The great final test comes at the close of human probation, when it will be too late for the soul's need to be supplied.  {COL 412.1}

May the Lord have mercy on His sleeping Church!
